Keeping a busy Slack channel readable often comes down to using threads instead of replying directly in the main feed. This guide covers starting a thread, broadcasting key replies back to the channel, and catching up using the Threads tab.
01Hover over a message
Move your cursor over the message you want to reply to in order to reveal the message options.
02Click Reply in Thread
Select the speech bubble icon to open the thread panel on the right side of your screen.
03Type your reply
Enter your response in the thread's input field and press Send.
04Broadcast to the channel if needed
Check 'Also send to channel' before sending if the reply is important enough for everyone to see immediately.
05Catch up using the Threads tab
Open the Threads section in your left sidebar to review all active conversations you're following.
