How to Create a Delivery Note in QuickBooks Online Easily 2026
By Impran M N
Customers receiving a shipment need an itemized list of what's inside — not your pricing or billing terms. QuickBooks Online can convert an existing invoice or sales receipt into a clean delivery note that strips out dollar amounts automatically. Here's how to generate one, either individually or in a batch.
01Find your target invoice
Go to Sales, then Invoices or All Sales, and locate the transaction tied to the shipment.
02Confirm the item details
Open the invoice and check that shipped items and quantities are accurate before generating any paperwork.
03Open the print options
Click Print or Preview at the bottom of the invoice screen to see the document options available.
04Select Print Packing Slip
Choose the Print Packing Slip or Delivery Note option from the pop-up menu to generate the pricing-free version.
05Print or batch process
Print the single slip directly, or return to the Sales grid, select multiple orders, and use Batch Actions to print packing slips for all of them at once.
Frequently asked questions
Will the delivery note show customer pricing?
No, the packing slip format automatically hides pricing and billing totals, showing only items and quantities.
Can I print delivery notes for multiple orders at once?
Yes, use the batch action from the Sales grid to select several pending orders and print all their packing slips together.
Do I need a separate invoice and delivery note?
Yes, the delivery note is generated from the invoice but is a distinct pricing-free document meant to travel with the shipment.
How do I avoid margin issues when printing packing slips?
Set your printer to Actual Size in the page layout settings so item lists don't shift or get cut off.
